Our Story
Transforming Brands
Under the UBA (Urban and Rural Basic Services) scheme, a survey was conducted in five villages, revealing a significant problem related to waste management. It was observed that these villages were struggling with inadequate waste management practices. Residents were not properly segregating and disposing of their waste, leading to issues such as littering, uncontrolled dumping, and the overall degradation of the local environment. This problem not only posed environmental challenges but also had health implications for the community. The improper management of waste in these villages called for urgent attention and intervention to implement effective waste disposal and recycling systems, raise awareness about proper waste handling, and improve the overall cleanliness and hygiene of the areas. Addressing these issues is crucial for the well-being and sustainable development of these communities under the UBA scheme.
Solution
We designed a innovative dustbin that enables the segregation of waste into plastic and non-plastic materials within a single bin. Our research process involved developing a specialized compartmentalized structure and incorporating smart sensor technology to facilitate efficient waste sorting. This approach aims to simplify waste segregation for users and improve recycling rates, contributing to a more sustainable waste management solution.
